Employees moving to Collegedale often have unique housing needs. Financing assistance varies based on the particulars of each case. Details need to be arranged with Financial Administration. In general, the university assists in four areas:
- Duplicate Housing: Assistance to cover housing costs of your prior residence with certain stipulations.
- Swing/Bridge Loan: Assistance to purchase house in Collegedale area until prior residence sells. Interest is charged and loan is recorded at court house at owner’s expense. This is to be temporary.
- Home Financing: Assistance to finance local home on a case by case basis. Twenty percent equity is required, and preference is given to homes on the university campus.
- University Rentals: Both apartments and homes are often available for rent on a first-come basis. Rates are competitive with the local market. A deposit is required.
