The staff advisory council appoints three staff members to the committee, the faculty senate appoints three faculty members to the committee, the chair is selected by committee members from among its membership.

Recommendations to be made to the President
The Medallion Subcommittee recommends recipients for the Distinguished Service Medallion according to procedures and criteria established by the Faculty Affairs Committee. The Medallion Subcommittee presents its recommendations to the university president.
