PRESIDENT’S AWARD FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE Update Delete



The Marketing and Communication Committee will recommend names of recipients (up to two employees per year) to the president. The president will make the final decision. The employee(s) chosen receive(s) $500 and a desk trophy.

Criteria:  An employee who exhibits consistent, excellent customer service skills when dealing with people is eligible for this award.  These skills include:

  1. Knowing how to take ownership of a customer’s problem and find a solution.
  2. Dealing empathetically with customer concerns.
  3. Managing difficult customers in a way that provides a win-win solution for the university and the customer.
  4. Having the ability to say “no” when necessary with a “yes” attitude.
  5. Exercising good judgment when balancing university policies with human needs.
