Description

This semester-long practicum provides advanced, supervised instructional experience in which teacher candidates assume primary responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction. Serving as the teacher of record, candidates apply pedagogical theory in authentic classroom settings under the guidance of a school-based clinical mentor and a university supervisor. The accompanying seminar deepens the job-embedded experience through critical analysis of current issues and research related to effective teaching and learning. Emphasis is placed on connecting major theories and principles of learning to practice, with opportunities for professional dialogue and practitioner-led presentations.
