Description

This course equips students to understand the political forces behind environmental outcomes and prepares them to critically evaluate competing policy approaches. Students examine how political choices drive environmental degradation and protection, how global inequality affects who bears environmental costs, and how competing visions of justice and sustainability inform policy responses. Through comparative case studies, this course highlights the political struggles that define climate change, energy transitions, and international cooperation. It bridges political theory, public policy, and international cooperation to address one of the most urgent challenges of our era: how societies can balance economic development, ecological integrity, and social equity.
