This survey course is designed to provide Tennessee-based job-embedded school counseling candidates a generalized pre-service professional orientation. With attention given to the practical application of school counseling knowledge and skills, the course provides an overview of the school setting, the various roles of professional school counselors, ethics of school counseling, school counseling interventions, school counselor professional identity, current trends in school counseling, and other topics as appropriate.
