This is the first of a two-course research sequence. It will examine the basic research design and methodologies commonly used in the social sciences. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches including single system design are examined along with an overview of relevant data analysis techniques. Ethical considerations for doing research with human subjects and vulnerable populations are explored.
