This course continues skill-building in the advanced emphasis area of crisis and emergency management, focusing on small to large scale disasters. The course explores topics related to community needs assessments and interventions in emergencies, man-made and natural disasters. Further special care and consideration is given to strategies to provide peer support, increase personal and community resilience, and optimize the mental well-being and performance under pressure for social workers.
