This course examines the role of theory and research in knowledge development and the translation of evidence into practice by advanced practice nurses. Emphasis is given to conceptual models and theories from nursing and other health-related disciplines that influence practice. The processes of conducting research and evidence-informed inquiry are reviewed. Interrelationships among theory, research, and evidence-informed practice are examined, focusing on translation to advanced practice.
