Nursing is a high-stakes program culminating in a license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Preparation for success in the nursing program is dependent upon the ability to apply theory to practice on unit, cumulative, and standardized exams. Focus is on learning style, study skills, critical thinking, clinical analytical reasoning, and time management. In addition, this course emphasizes strategies to wholistically optimize health and build/maintain systems to support students in the nursing program. Course is required for those determined by the Admissions Committee to be at risk as well as those who earn C+ or lower in the test category or course grade in a core NURS course. Pass/Fail. A pass grade is required for progression.
