This course prepares the advanced practice nurse in evidence-based practices for integrating physical activity assessment, prescription, and counseling as a regular part of their health care practice. Exercise principles are applied to various patient situations to prevent disease, overcome disease-related and other barriers, and to improve health. Clinical experience with anthropometric, metabolic, exercise and cardiovascular stress-testing in laboratory environments is a part of this course.
