This course provides a foundation for the use of a lifestyle approach for preventing, managing, and reversing chronic disease. Concepts explored include a Biblical perspective of health and healing, the role of lifestyle as a determinant of disease, the biological basis and scientific evidence for the use of lifestyle therapeutics, the role of the advanced practice nurse in Lifestyle Medicine, and effective models for employing a lifestyle approach in advanced nursing practice. Eight essentials of optimum health as integral components of a healthy lifestyle are examined through use of the CREATION Life model.
