Description

Study is given to the theoretical framework for incorporating teaching literacy across the curriculum in the lower grades. Instructional strategies designed to enhance critical and creative thinking, as well as academic performance in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and visual literacy in all content areas are incorporated. Assessment of knowledge and skills will include demonstration of literacy skills appropriate to the course. Each candidate will provide written documentation of appropriate planning, implementation, and assessment to accompany the demonstration.
