Description

A study of the birds and their natural history with an emphasis on bird identification. Major topics covered in lectures are morphology, anatomy, taxonomy, and an introduction to behavior. Laboratory sessions are held on Sunday mornings. The laboratory component consists primarily of bird-watching hikes to learn birds by sight and sound. An extended field trip which applies toward laboratory credit is planned. Two lectures per week. Approximately 50 hours of lab per semester.
