An art survey course tracing the rise of modernism after the French Revolution through the nineteenth century, culminating in recent postmodern developments of twenty-first century artistic expression. Special attention will be given to European and American arts and the incessant demand for the shock of the new. This course is cross-listed with ARTH 345. A student may receive credit for this course from only one program.
