This semester-long practicum provides teacher candidates with comprehensive, supervised teaching experience in a classroom setting. Candidates assume responsibility for instructional planning, delivery, and assessment. Student teaching candidates are guided by a school-based clinical mentor and a university supervisor, while job-embedded candidates serve as the teacher of record with similar support. A required seminar complements the practicum by addressing key theories of learning and instruction, offering opportunities for reflective discussion, and featuring presentations by experienced practitioners on topics relevant to effective teaching.
